Replaced both the kitchen and laundry room sink faucets in the house in Yuba City. Also replaced the drain plumbing on the kitchen sink, since it was done wrong. Somebody had forgotten the plumbing adage, 'Water runs downhill', since the wye fitting that was used was set dead level. I had to cut it out anyhow, since whoever had installed the disposal had glued all the plumbing bits with the exception of the traps and the drain pipes on the sinks. Replumbed the dual sink and disposal in a way that is to code, rather than the way it was. Was thankful again that I bought a Sonicrafter tool years ago, since it made short work of cutting away the old plumbing from the wall stub and leaving enough to glue a union and a slip fit adaptor, so that if I ever have to replace the drain lines again, it will be a short job. Other things I'm going to have to do involve getting a square nosed shovel to clear away dirt from the siding at the back of the house. Sloppy landscaping, and I'll have to hire someone to replace the pieces of siding that have been in contact with the dirt and are starting to rot. Most of the problems with the house have all been minor items that the previous owner simply neglected dealing with. Found a product made in Wisconsin called Magica that actually worked for getting rid of the rust stains on the carpet in one room of the house. Spray it on, wait about 5 minutes, and then rinse with cold water. The Oreck came in handy for that. Minor items that have made a big difference were door sweeps on the outside doors to the laundry room and the garage. Killed the draft that was coming in through the laundry room and making that end of the house a lot colder than it should be. On the weekend of the 13th, I'll be going back up to deal with Comcast and the amazing pieces of garbage they call DTA adaptors. I also have the fun task of running coax cable all over the house, since the existing cable appears to be the cheap stuff and the signal is not all that it could be. At least it won't be a sauna in the attic space. More next time.
