The joys of home ownership
Dec. 4th, 2017 05:08 pmReplacing the kitchen and laundry room faucets. While it's a simple enough task, it has become a lot more complicated. The hot water shutoff valves under both sinks are pretty much shot. Stem packing is questionable on both, and the valve washer is toast on the kitchen one. More than I wanted to deal with on a Sunday morning before driving back to Hayward from Yuba City. Next weekend, probably. Trying to decide whether I should repair the valves, or just replace them. On the other hand, I did finish shampooing all the carpets that needed it. I guess I'll be building an appliance storage cupboard in the garage, simply to store things like the Oreck that get used once in a blue moon. Replacing the weatherstripping on the garage roll up door, and putting door sweeps on the exterior doors that currently lack them. Weather is supposed to be good next weekend, at least, not raining. Probably going to be colder than a well digger's knee, though.
