New developments

The maintenance items on the house in Yuba City are slowly being checked off the list. Shampooed the carpets, and was thankful for the Oreck Extreme Steemer rug cleaner we bought years ago. Rug looks a LOT better now. We left the ceiling fans running overnight in the rooms that were done, and they were dry the next morning. I changed out all the exterior locks on the home and, in the course of that, learned far more about the innards of the KwikSet Smart Key system than I ever really wanted to know. Finished with all of that and the house is now secure and working well. I did more inspection around the outside of the house and found that there is an access to get to the workings of the spa tub through the siding under the window. All I have to do is pull 4 screws to drop the access panel, and figure out what kind of valves and whatnot I need to spend time at one of the local building supply places at shopping for. I probably should consider redoing all the grout in the tiled shower stalls, but, for now, I cleared away the loose grout around the bottom and used a not unreasonable about of white silicone II caulk in both of them. Next item on the hit parade is running coax through the attic space to the rooms that don't have a cable outlet. So...much...fun. SWMBO has given the okay to pick up a 500' spool of RG-6 and a small bag of connectors. I know I have a crimper for F-type connectors, but I need to remember where I misplaced it in the house. Reset the Nest thermostat to do better energy management, and that should help keep things more comfortable.
